How to register oneself in the Trade Registry

It is compulsory to be registered with the Central Trade Registry for:

  • A person, whether natural or artificial, exercising a commercial activity in Morocco
  • The branches or agencies of a company exercising a commercial activity in Morocco
  • The representations or trade agencies of a State, a community or a foreign publicly-owned entity.
  • Moroccan publicly-owned entities having a commercial or industrial character, when the law which constitutes them provides for such a possibility.
  • The GIE's (Economic Interest Groupings)

Registration of individuals (natural persons) :

Tradesmen must file a request w with the Court Clerk's Office of the court having jurisdiction over the main facility or the commercial company. The registration in the Trade Registry must be made within a three-month period after the opening of the commercial entity or the acquisition of the goodwill. Registration of companies (artificial persons)

The registration in the Trade Registry must be made must be made within a three-month period after the creation of the company. The registration of a company may be requested only by the managers or members of administrative, governing or managing bodies. (Link to list of the documents required for legal entitities (pdf))

Registration of the branches and subsidiaries

Any natural or artificial person may create agencies or branches related to the main facility already registered in the Trade Registry. (Link to list of documents required for branches or subsidiaries) (pdf))

The registration in the Trade Registry is the last stage of the creation of a company.
