Goals for 2010

In parallel to this, OMPIC plays a fundamental part in sensitizing the economic players and in the promotion of industrial property, which go hand in hand with growth and modernization of the Moroccan economy.

To achieve these goals by 2010, OMPIC has highlighted 5 development axes:

Legal environment

The rights related to industrial property titles are guaranteed by the Moroccan law. OMPIC proposes to act to facilitate the implementation of the legislation, in particular by the simplification of the procedures. It also takes part in a better protection of the national companies, through the establishment of a national anti-counterfeit committee.

Innovation and technological intelligence

Innovation is the growth engine, in an increasingly technological world. OMPIC has set for itself the following goals

• to encourage innovation and the registration of patents in Morocco.
• to sensitize economic players to the importance of technological intelligence through the dissemination of technical information related to patents.

Information system

The enormous mass of information, contained in industrial property titles registers and trade registries, may be fully exploited by the greatest number of people only through computerized databases. OMPIC has developed the "SIPIC" information system which gives you the possibility of carrying out on-line formalities and searches. In the long term, OMPIC intends to enhance the raw data contained in SIPIC, by giving on-line access to value-added analyses.

Marketing and Communication

The promotion of industrial property is of utmost importance, because it represents a strategic tool for the development of the economy. OMPIC has therefore set for itself the mission which consists in communicating about issues of industrial property, and supporting companies in the management of their titles. As this respect, OMPIC regularly organizes seminars and training sessions, and takes part in fairs and trade shows around this set of themes.

Organization and Resources

Since its inception, OMPIC has set up an organization and management aiming at optimally meeting the missions which are entrusted to it. The quality approach, which will lead to an ISO 9001certification, as well as the internal audit system which will be soon operational, will make it possible to achieve these goals.
