How to file a patent - You must file your patent application with OMPIC's headquarters in Casablanca
- In Morocco, patents are issued to the first person to file, even if he is not the inventor. If the inventor is a wage-earner, and that his invention was developed within the framework of the mission with which his company has entrusted him, the invention belongs to the employer. However if the employer registers the patent, he must compensate the inventor according to the provisions provided for by the law (link to 3.3.1: laws and regulations
- You must write a descriptive report of the patent which includes:
- A description of the invention: its scope, the previous state of the art, a description of the technical problem and of the solution brought by your invention, the possible industrial applications, and the like. - One or more claims, which define the object and the limitations of the protection asked for. - A summary of the technical contents of the invention, - The designs necessary to understand the invention, if necessary.
