What may we register as a design or industrial model

Your design or model is new :
It should not have been made public in an advertisement, a brochure, or any other means, before the date of filing. You must thus be vigilant at the time of development of your design or model, and have all the people who see such design or model sign confidentiality clauses before the registration of such design or model. However in Morocco, there is a 6-month grace period between the first public presentation and the request for filing.

It is thus necessary to consult the databases of designs or models before defining the one you will register. There is an international classification of designs and industrial models, used in Morocco, defined within the framework of the Locarno Arrangement which facilitates the search for designs and industrial models which have already been filed. Caution: your design or model should not reproduce effigies, signs, acronyms, denominations, decorations, emblems and currencies, except after prior approval of the competent authorities. It should not represent an attack against good morals or against law and order.
